Atlas Copco’s VSD technology precisely matches fluctuating air demand by continuously adjusting the motor speed, thereby saving energy. When combined with intake pressure control, variable-speed drives (VSDs) maximize airflow while minimizing power consumption.
By reducing unnecessary workload, variable-speed drives consume less power while enhancing process control and minimizing maintenance. Variable-speed drives (VSDs) enable your gas compressor to readily adapt to fluctuating gas production demands.
As the available gas flow rate increases, the VSD motor accelerates to ensure a continuous supply of gas to the pipeline network even under very small pressure fluctuations.

It can recover up to 75% of the electrical energy, which is converted into compressed thermal energy.
