QDT and QD+ Series – The Ideal Solution for Oil Vapor Filtration
Oil vapor poses a serious threat to compressed air systems, as it can damage pneumatic equipment and contaminate end products, leading to increased operating costs. Atlas Copco’s premium air filters help safeguard your operations by protecting them from oil vapor contamination.

If oil vapors enter the compressed air stream, they can damage pneumatic equipment and contaminate end products, thereby significantly increasing a company’s operating costs.
Accordingly, Atlas Copco has developed a range of high‑quality air filters that safeguard your operations and investments by protecting them from oil vapor contamination. The QDT and QD+ series filters help extend the service life of your equipment and ensure that your end products meet stringent quality standards.

Understand your air quality requirements.
Understanding your air quality requirements and the standards you must comply with will help you select the appropriate air filter, thereby reducing your capital costs and ensuring that you can fully leverage your compressed air system.
If you’re unsure which filter to use and only know that you must protect the system from oil vapor, you should first determine your air quality requirements. For some applications, oil vapor in the compressed air stream poses no problem—for example, when inflating tires. On the other hand, in cleanroom environments, such vapors must be removed to prevent contamination of finished products.
If you are unsure which ISO standard applies to your operating conditions, or if you are uncertain about the types of contaminants you need to protect against, please contact Atlas Copco or refer to the table below.

QD+ Series

Our QD(+) activated carbon filter efficiently reduces oil vapor and odors in compressed air streams, safeguarding your investment, equipment, and processes. The activated carbon layer exhibits strong adsorption capacity, reducing residual oil content to below 0.003 mg/m³ while maintaining a low pressure drop throughout the filter’s service life.
QD+ filters not only ensure the maximum removal of oil vapor but also maintain low dust emissions. By using high‑quality materials—such as stainless steel filter elements, double O‑rings, epoxy‑sealed end caps, and a corrosion‑resistant coated housing—they deliver superior performance and reliability.
QD+ series filters are also easy to maintain, further reducing your operating costs. The push‑in filter element makes maintenance even more convenient. A service indicator provides alerts for (preventive) maintenance.

QDT Series

These filters consist of high-efficiency activated carbon cartridges and are capable of removing oil vapor, hydrocarbons, and odors from the compressed air supply. Through adsorption, the activated carbon layer reduces residual oil concentrations to below 0.003 mg/m³.
Thanks to its superior internal airflow channels, the QDT series filters also deliver low pressure drop, maintaining the lowest possible pressure drop throughout the filter’s entire service life. Its robust design and high‑quality filter media further ensure exceptional reliability.

Certification
QDT Series - ISO 8573-5:2001
For more information on the QD+ and QDT series, please refer to the manual.
To remove oil vapor—as well as hydrocarbons and odors—Atlas Copco also offers the high-pressure H-series filters and the silicone-free SFA-series filters.
Ideal filtration technology
The QD+ series employs a macro‑structured activated carbon technology, featuring a surface area significantly larger than that of conventional carbon filters. Thanks to its exceptional adsorption capacity, it delivers consistent performance over an extended service life.
inPASS™ Bypass
The QD+ series features a built-in bypass, allowing you to service the filter without interrupting airflow. For you, this means no need to install costly external pipeline bypasses, resulting in lower operating and energy costs, reduced maintenance time, and significant capital savings.
Maintenance indicator
To ensure consistent air quality, the QD+ system is equipped with a maintenance indicator that allows for easy monitoring of filter runtime, differential pressure, and service status. It can even send remote alerts.
Professional filtration technology
Atlas Copco’s dedicated filtration team has been continuously seeking ways to give you a competitive edge. The new generation of filters incorporates a range of innovative technologies, making your filtration system more efficient and easier to operate. Below are just three examples.

Find a filter that suits your application environment.
The table below shows the various ISO 8573-1:2010 air purity classes, along with the Atlas Copco filter and dryer combinations that meet these classes.
If you’re unsure which ISO class you need but do know which contaminants you must protect your system from, please refer to the general‑purpose and specialized application tables below. They provide an overview of which Atlas Copco filter is best suited to handle each type of contaminant.

When operating at pressures other than the rated pressure, the actual free air delivery (FAD) is calculated by multiplying the rated AML flow rate by a correction factor. The resulting flow rate corresponds to the pressure drop specified by the AML.
